I've just realized

it's one of the worst things you can do

is show people videos.

It's horrible, it's horrible.

Isn't it?

I mean- I'm sweating.

I've just suddenly realized. I'm sweating.

It's quite stressful.

[Andrew] This is horrible.

[Harris] It's like a step up from like-

[soft music]

Hello, my name's [pauses]

Jonathan. [Andrew laughs]

The pause.

I'm Riz. [Jonathan laughs]

I'm Harris.

I'm Andrew, and we're gonna watch

some of our favorite YouTube videos.

We were talking earlier and like,

men of a certain generation,

sorry to leave you

out of this- It's all right.

And leave you out of this slightly.

But like early YouTube videos,

it's impossible to find favorites

that aren't in some way offensive.

Right. There's always

something offensive in it.

But when did it start?

It started in

Nineteen tickety two. [Jonathan laughs]

No it didn't. [Andrew laughs]

'No it didn't!'

That's a made up time!'

[Harris] Nineteen tickety two.

It wasn't the nineties when it started.

[Harris] No, no. I was ten-

But like, do you remember Unforgivable?

Do you remember those? Unforgivable?

I was gonna choose Unforgivable.

Dude, that, we were born in the same year-

Look I can't touch, not on camera-

But we can high five.

[Riz] Cause it's offensive, yeah, okay.

It is offensive-

Gently now.

But like, we're brothers.

[Offscreen] Well, which did you want to-

Wait, wait, wait.

Did you give options?

How many did you give?

I have got a lot of time in my hands.

You guys know Steve Brule? Yeah.

[Steve laughs] There he is.

Hey Jan. Hey Wayne.

I don't even like wine, but guess what?

You're gonna like it. I need some cheese.

Steve, what kind of wine is that you're drinking?

I can't see, hon.

Sweet Berry wine! [Steve laughs]

[Steve slurps]

I'm supposed to spit it out. [Jonathan laughs]

but no way Jose,

am I spitting this stuff out.

It tastes like-

He's so good. Fruit.

[Steve laughs]

I mean, have you any of guys worked with him?

Steve? No.

I did a film with him, uh,

the south of Spain,

[clip continues in background]

the Western.

[Andrew] Oh yeah,

He's so good.

John C. Reilly is a genius,

and 'Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!'

is a great show.

I don't know, it was just one that I would watch over

and over and over again and he was,

he was genuinely wasted doing this-

[Harris] Oh really?

And got really, really drunk doing it.

I don't know, it just felt iconic to me.

Great taste.

Thank you.

[Harris laughs]

I've just realized it's, like,

one of the worst things you can do is show people videos.

Oh, it's horrible. It's horrible.

Isn't it? I mean-

Why, why? I'm sweating.

I just suddenly realized. I'm sweating.

Well it's quite stressful. This is horrible!

It's deadly. It's like a step up

from like having the Aux. Totally.

What's the aux? Oh god, like the aux.

Like choose the songs- I thought you meant orcs,

In a group setting. As in like O-R-C-S.

I think Harris wants to go next.

I don't care. Mine's not that deep.

Doesn't need an introduction. I'm excited.

Well, there's an endless list of regulations

that govern dogs these days, so how is it

that these two are roaming their neighborhood,

frightening the locals, and the council isn't stopping it?

[ominous music plays] I've seen this.

[Man In Clip] Yesterday morning-

I came out into the front yard

and the dogs were across the road.

And as soon as they saw me

they came bounding over.

[mimics angry dog barking]

[everyone laughs]

And I just made it into the front door in time.

[Harris] Is that real? It's the what?

[Jonathan] It's real. This is bizarre.

It's not real! It is real!

It's not real! On the left.

Look at her!

The poor wife.

She's so-

[Riz] Oh man. For 40 years.

[Riz] I think he's created this whole like

scandal just so he can do that.

Yeah, yeah!

It's also like that politician recently-

He's a political animal-

You know when the guy tried to criticize him

because he said he's not from Australia.

He went 'Oh, you watch it, son.

I've punched blokes in the mouth for that.'

It was as bad as this,

but it was like genuine, like, politician on a platform.

Does feel a bit xenophobic that you only

bring up Australian stuff. No.

But also-

And, and mocking.

No, I think- Harris says something

I think the Australians

he's bringing up are xenophobic.

[Harris] Yeah. [Andrew laughs]

Exactly. Yeah. Actually-

Slightly different. Yeah, fuck you.

It's all right, I got you man.

Let's do it.

Mine is very, very straightforward.

Classic boring. Harmless.

This is Joe Pesci acting like a psycho.

Oh.

I'm in the middle of the fucking weeds,

laying down. He comes over, he says-

[Riz] This is my favorite film.

I'm resting. 'Here, you're resting?'

This scene.

This scene's amazing.

Go to a fucking beach, in a park.

I said, 'I'm resting. I know I'm resting, I'm resting.'

They pulled me in.

They started giving me all kinds of questions-

It's hard to believe

that it's the same guy from Home Alone.

He says, 'No, you're gonna tell me something today,

tough guy.'

I said, 'All right, I'll tell you something.

Go fuck your mother.'

[Henry laughs]

That laugh, man. That's a big choice. Ray Liotta.

Yeah, he's really committed-

It's incredible. To that same.

Ding, pow, poof, ping!

What the fuck is it?

Do you know how he says 'Pow, ping?'

He reminds me so much of my uncle.

I mean, my uncle would literally do that.

He would go halfway through a joke

and then halfway he'd just start doing sound effects

and just assume that you understand.

He goes 'And then he comes, turns around. Pow, tuh, ooh!'

[everyone laughs]

And you're like, what the fuck are you talking about?

This is where it's all about, this moment.

How the fuck am I funny?

[Riz laughs]

What the fuck is so funny about me?

Tell me. Tell me what's funny.

[Andrew laughs]

Get the fuck outta here! Get the fuck outta here!

You motherfucker, I almost had him!

It's so good.

So good.

So what's amazing about this scene is you might think

it's the kind of scene you'd cut in a film,

but it's got, it contains a whole film within this.

[everyone agrees]

Do you know what I mean? Like Henry -

slightly insider, outsider, this guy's a loose cannon.

Ends the scene with, 'You may fold under questioning.'

But how do you as a director set that up

for the actors to do that?

You know what I mean?

Like it's,

I don't think we get the opportunity to do that

as much maybe as they did

in that period- What, you think-

Of filmmaking they just had more time or-

I don't know. I think the focus,

it's more on the technical maybe now

than it is on kind of letting the performances live.

And I mean I, I've definitely had moments

where filmmakers have allowed that

and created a space for that,

but like what a beautiful gift for us to be able to-

Yeah, to have that playground.

Be given that.

[Riz] I went up to Ray Liotta once,

the only time I met him,

at Venice Film Festival.

And I approached him.

He was sat in the corner of a bar on his own in the back.

And I just went up to him and said,

'Mr. Liotta.

I just wanted to say Goodfellas is my favorite film.

Your performance in that.

It's one of the most important things to me and it's why-'

And before I could even finish the sentence he goes,

'I know.'

[everyone laughs]

I just got the sense

that people say that to him-

[Andrew] All the time. All day long.

[Andrew] Well founded.

[Harris] Wow. It's just everyone comes up

to him going that 'You changed my life.'

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[Riz] 'That changed my life.'

And he's like, 'I'm trying to have a drink.'

Yeah, you don't need to finish.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

I've heard this one six times today.

This truly, this was the easiest

decision I've ever made in my life.

[Riz] Oh, come on.

[Sandstorm by Darude starts]

Follow the yellow brick road!

Follow the yellow brick road!

Follow the yellow brick road!

[Sandstorm continues]

[Riz laughs]

[Andrew] Stop! Wait.

Yes!

[Andrew laughs]

Yes!

[everyone laughs]

[Sandstorm continues]

To celebrate

how the scoring of a movie can change the, the narrative.

Oh, that's great!

I was trying to work out something

[Riz laughs]

that sums up the feeling when you go

to a festival with all your mates.

[Sandstorm chorus starts] That's excellent. The drop.

It is perfect, man.

Ah, this is what we used to do.

Put music over the wrong video.

It's so good.

Yeah.

If there was a night, if there was a,

a night that you could go to.

Yeah. What a good theme. Yeah.

Or an installation.

What, you dress up as Wizard of Oz

and just?

Yeah, just, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Munchkin Night.

I think it's called Glastonbury.

This is a really mushroom friendly film.

Yeah.

I mean, watching this-

Yeah-

Harris tells me that this is YouTube.

You don't like Unforgivable, you've never eaten mushrooms.

There's so many things. Salad Fingers.

Salad Fingers!

Yeah. Yeah. Iconic.

You were gonna go with that-

Is that the one that you didn't-

'Hubert, you taste like soot and poo.'

[Riz laughs]

Soot and poo!

'You taste like soot and poo.'

So you would've chosen that-

'I like it when the red water comes out.'

You would've chosen Unforgivable.

No, I would not have chosen Unforgivable.

Leroy Jenkins?

Remember Lee, remember the Leroy Jenkins one?

Yeah. [Andrew laughs]

It's really crazy.

Have you seen Leroy Jenkins?

No.

It's really weird.

Oh, do you know what? Let's keep going.

[everyone laughs]

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Let's, yeah, let's just keep this, yeah. Round two.

Get my USB.

Yeah.

[everyone laughs]
